For all hikes: Bring lunch, liquid and clothing appropriate for the season (summer fog, winter rain).
Some hikes may be canceled or changed due to the weather; please see statement in each hike description.
Call the hike leader if you are not sure.
For trail maintenance: Wear long pants, boots, and long-sleeved shirt and bring gloves as well as lunch and liquid.

Trail Maintenance - Skyline to the Sea Trail— Al Lisin, (408) 252-8106, leads a group that maintains the Skyline to the Sea Trail. This group now meets on the first Saturday of the month. The group meets at 9:00 am. Please call Al for meeting place (which changes).

Pogonip and UCSC Hike trails through Pogonip and UCSC, just a few hills, about 6-7 miles. Afterwards there's the option of going to Bocci's Cellar about a mile away for bocce ball and drinks. Meet 9:00 VTA parking on Hwy 9 in Los Gatos. Heavy rain cancels. Toni Bassett 650-785-1916.

Coyote Hills Regional Park From the Don Edwards Visitor Center we will take the Appay Way trail to Coyote Hills Regional Park for an easy 8 to 10 mile hike. If you want, bring binoculars for bird viewing. Carpool from Hobees in Sunnyvale at 9:00 AM or meet at Don Edwards Visitor Center near the East End end of the Dumbarton Bridge at 9:30 AM Leader is Janet McCarron, janiegm1@comcast.net

Castle Rock State Park Trail Maintenance— The third Saturday of every month Kevin McDevitt leads trail work in the Castle Rock area. Meet at Saratoga Gap parking lot at 9:00. Call Kevin at (408) 733-3333. Bring boots and gloves, lunch and liquid. Tools are supplied but bring your own favorites if you prefer.

Pescadero-creek-Park From the Tarwater trail head hike Tarwater trail, Canyon trail, East brook trail Pomponio trail, have lunch at Shaw Flat trail camp , continue on Pomponio trail and Shingle Mill trail back to the cars. Moderate hike about 10 miles. Direction to Pescadero Creek Park- from Page Mill park and ride, take Page Mill to Alpine Road to Pomponio road to Tarwater Trailhead parking. Heavy rain/wind cancels. Russian Ridge OSP/Mindego Hill We will start from the Audrey Rust Commemorative Site parking lot on Alpine Road, 1.2 miles west of Skyline Boulevard. We will use the Mindego Hill, Charquin, and Ancient Oaks Trails, with side trips to the POST Council Circle and Borel Hill (via Bo Gimbal Trail). Great views and, if we are lucky, cows! Moderate, total distance is 8-9 miles. We can add a bit more or reduce depending on weather. Rain cancels: leader will email by 7:30 a.m. if hike is cancelled. Sunol Regional Wilderness We will hike the McCorkle trail from The Indian Joe/Canyon View Trail and return via The Backpack/ Canyon View trail. The first 2 miles are steep and open, approximately 1000 ft. elevation. Total 6+ miles with an option to do 2 extra miles at the junction of Backpack trail. Yerba Buena Island We will hike to Yerba Buena Is.vista point where restrooms/water are available and shuttle to Treasure Is. for lunch and adventure. Return to Yerba Buena and Oakland. La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve Out and back, partial loop hike in the newly-opened section of this preserve. About 9 miles, some up and down. Hike planning and snacks after the hike! Moderate to heavy rain will change hike location and length. Carpool at 8:45 Carpool Page Mill / 280 Park and Ride; or Sears Ranch Road parking at 9:30. Joseph D Grant County Park Hike Los Huecos trail, Pala Seca trail, lunch near Antler Point. Return Canada de Pala trail and Halls Valley trail. Moderate to Strenuous hike. Huddart Park We will start from the Zwierlein Picnic Area (near bathroom), and take the Bay Tree, Richards Road, Crystal Springs to Skyline, have lunch and come back down Dean Trail. Moderate Hike around 8 miles and 1000' elevation change Rain Cancels. Car Pool at 9:10am at Page Mill Park and Ride or Meet at 9:30am at Zwierlein Picnic Area at Huddart Park. The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park9-10 mile moderate hike to Five Finger falls. Meet for carpool at Los Gatos Municipal at 8:45. Hike begins at 9:30 at Forest of Nisene Marks State Park at the Porter Family Picnic area or if the winter gate is closed, at Georges Picnic area. Heavy rain/wind cancels. Point Reyes National Park We will hike up Meadow trail to Woodward Valley trail, Coastal trail towards Arch Rock & Wildcat; depending on the tide we might not be able to get to the beach. We will find our way back on Glen trail, Baldy trail , Sky trail and Mount Wittenberg. Since this park is a longer drive to get there I will not scout this hike. I will need help to navigate the trails. By looking at the map and my calculation the miles will be 10 plus. Heavy rain will cancel the hike. Carpool at park & ride lot off Page Mill/Hwy280 at 8.00am. Or meet at Bear Valley Visitor Center at 9.30am Hike Leader: Vivian Jung 408-238-3388
